What is peasant society?

The peasant society, is a small-scale social organisation in which peasants pre-dominate the features distinctive from other social groupings. Or sometimes the term is used to refer to a large society which peasants are the majority, most usages would limit the term to a narrow meaning approximating to community.

Peasants live in various societies, mainly are Agrarian societies, within which the other social groups, so that is not possible to characterise the whole society by referring to one of these groups. However, within a village or region, as in social relationships may dominate. Characteristically these may be centred around Kin and family ties, the importance of access to land, a distrust of outsiders and a cyclical view of time.
